Accessibility Statement


The Bridge Inn is located on the high street, in the small village of Ruswarp (Approximately 2 miles outside of Whitby). We aim to provide visitors and locals with a warm welcome and a relaxed experience during their visit. We offer a changing seasonal menu containing a wide range of home-cooked meals.

Where possible we advise people to ring ahead and inform the staff of any access needs that may require pre-planning by the pub staff. The pub is set back off the High Street, there are some small steps down off the footpath to get into the pub.



The parking at the pub is roadside only as the pub does not have a car park. Alternatively, if you do not drive you can travel to the pub using the local bus or train service.

Arriving at the pub

The entrance to the pub is through the front door. Although, alternative entrances can be offered down the side of the pub and through the beer garden. Please ask for assistance on arrival if you require to use the side entrance. In addition to the front and back entrance.  The pub can offer the use of a ramp where needed. The width of both the outside and inside doors are 76cm and the width of the back door is 75cm.

Inside the pub

Once inside the pub there is plenty of seating in both the bar area and the dining rooms. Should it help, we can swap chairs or remove them completely depending on your needs when visiting us. We also offer a safe place to store walking aids/pushchairs where required.

If you require a highchair, please ask a member of staff either on booking or on arrival.


We do not have a designated disabled access/baby changing facilities. Two of our toilets have been fitted with grab rails and baby changing facilities can be provided where needed.
